How to wrap an egg soap holder set
Mud Room × Perfume Who
This collaboration takes its inspiration from Hideyuki Oka’s How to Wrap Five Eggs, a photographic study of traditional Japanese packaging. How to Wrap an Egg extends these ideas into a contemporary bathing ritual. Rather than asking only how an egg might be wrapped, the series considers how it might be held, protected, used, and transformed.
The series consists of five one-of-a-kind ceramic soap holders, handcrafted by @mud___room. Each holder embraces an egg-shaped glycerin soap handmade by Perfume Who, scented with notes of geranium, cedarwood, and oakmoss.
Mud Room is the creative practice of Sanjana Lahiri, a Brooklyn-based designer and ceramicist from Singapore. Driven by a curiosity around the material properties and limits of clay, Mud Room blurs the distinction between designing and making.
Each limited-edition set includes:
— One unique ceramic soap holder
— Two handmade glycerin soaps by Perfume Who
Only five sets will be made.
